It’s vital to support the power of art in your community. It not only turns the physical space into a more thriving, artistic environment that inspires and instills pride, but also provides economic opportunities and career pathways for individuals. Writerz Blok is doing just that.

As the first public graffiti art park in the nation, Writerz Blok offers a free space for everyone across the spectrum, from youth who volunteer and seek a hangout spot, to internationally renowned graffiti artists who share their knowledge with aspiring artists. The yard also serves as a stage for various events featuring hip-hop MCs and DJs, dance crews, and live graffiti art demonstrations.

Writerz Blok continues to develop its young artists through regular educational workshops that prepare them for careers in creative fields. However, they are limited on resources and lack the proper space to consistently provide classes to our students.

For this reason Writerz Blok is launching an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign to raise money to expand its facility and add more
hands-on creative job training programs.

THE GOAL: $25,000

With this money Writerz Blok plans to:

• Build new classroom space and expand its programs to include classes in graphic design, screen-printing, web development, and coding.

• Build a pop-up retail space to sell merchandise, teach youth managerial skills, and generate revenue for its programs.

• Expand its Yard and install permanent walls for graffiti art and murals.

With these improvements and restorations, Writerz Blok will reach more youth looking to change their future into a brighter one where their passion for the arts can become their profession.

The new programs are designed to target at-youth risk who have been through the Juvenile Justice system. These are youth who come from low-income homes and have been neglected either at home or their schools.  Their mission is to provide the underserved youth with the resources to explore their own creative interests and inspire them to be thinkers, creators, and doers. Writerz Blok wants to be the catalyst in their lives that encourages them to aspire to be creative professionals and entrepreneurs.
