Ways to Pay it Forward
For more than 25 years, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation has remained dedicated to the vibrant Southeastern San Diego community and its passionate residents, businesses, organizations, community spirit and culture.
As part of this resilient community, we’re proud to have contributed projects such as bringing in a Walgreens to serve as the area’s first pharmacy, building a business accelerator hub and resource center for the public, and opening the nation’s first legal graffiti arts park, Writerz Blok.
We look forward to growing partnerships, projects and resources to benefit our neighbors and fill needs through real estate development, economic development and community engagement projects and programs.
The Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation relies on the help and generosity from individuals, corporations, foundations and governments to bring resources, such as education for all ages, cultural experiences and business resources to Southeastern San Diego.

Jacobs Center Business Accelerator Program
Together, Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation, the City of San Diego and CONNECT w/ San Diego Venture Group developed the region’s first business accelerator specifically focused on low-to-moderate income and diverse entrepreneurs. The program helps scale up local, early-stage businesses through business management support, mentorship, co-working space and more. Jacobs Center also offers a no-cost Business Resource Center where entrepreneurs and business owners can connect and learn about local services and support programs to move their ideas and businesses forward.
Education and development
Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation partners with other nonprofits, businesses and schools to provide our neighborhood families and individuals enriching, cost-accessible programs and services. The Jacobs Center focuses on bringing opportunity to all, from programs that promote academic achievement, to entrepreneurial and business-focused programs and tools for growth.
Diverse cultural and arts programs
The Jacobs Center develops and promotes Southeastern San Diego events and programs, encouraging community participation and engagement. In the last year, virtual events spanning education, the arts and career development were hosted on our digital channels in partnership with local community-based organizations.
