KIPP Community Mixer – April 12

KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) operates a middle school that has been located downtown since 2003, the school is KIPP Adelante Preparatory Academy. They’ve enrolled 5-8th grade students from Barrio Logan, Logan Heights, Chollas View, Valencia Park, Mount Hope and Shelltown and for 14 years, those students have traveled downtown to go to middle school.

KIPP has an opportunity to relocate the middle school to Southeastern San Diego, and they are thrilled about the possibilities that presents. They’d like to meet with community leaders, talk to folks, share the history and future of KIPP here in San Diego and listen to the hopes and dreams of the community and to do that, they have scheduled a community mixer at the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA on April 12 at 5pm.
