Job Description:
Are you a people person with a knack for building rapport and conducting engaging conversations?
UF has an opportunity for you as a Part-Time Telephone Interviewer in the UF Survey Research team.

As a Telephone Interviewer, you'll be responsible for conducting surveys over the phone with diverse respondents. Your communication skills play a vital role in gathering valuable data for academic and business research, while you gain hands-on experience in the field of survey research.

Conveniently located in downtown Gainesville, the UFSRC is a casual work environment that has a flexible part-time schedule which allows employees to balance academic or personal commitments while gaining valuable work experience.

To succeed in this role, you'll need exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a clear speaking voice, and the ability to adapt to various situations. Basic proficiency in computer/technical skills, a willingness to learn new software, and the ability to follow instructions are also essential.
There is no sales, marketing, lobbying, or fundraising involved with this position.

At the UFSRC, a Telephone Interviewer can expect:

  1. Starting pay of $15/hour plus productivity incentives based on above-average performance.

  4. Creating your own work schedule of 3 or 4 weekday evening shifts 6 PM-9 PM,
    1 weekday late afternoon shift 3 PM-6 PM,
    1 3-hour weekend shift, and 1 weekday Grave shift 9 PM-10 PM.
  5. Ability to add additional shifts, depending on availability.
  6. Flexible scheduling to accommodate busy student schedules.
  7. Relaxed, friendly, temperature-controlled environment with the ability to read and study non-electronic sources while working.
  8. Headset required for the role is provided. No additional equipment needed.

Expected Salary:
$15/hour with an opportunity to receive performance incentives based on above-average productivity.

Minimum Requirements:
  • 18 years old or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work at least 15 to 20 hours per week.
  • Clear and professional speaking voice in fluent English.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to read from a script exactly as written.
  • Ability to listen effectively and follow instructions.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Customer service and telephone experience.
  • Ability to follow standard operating and project-related procedures.
  • Ability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week at our location in Gainesville, Florida.
  • Ability to work at least 3 weekday evenings 6 PM to 9 PM per week.
  • Ability to work from 9 PM to 10 PM at least 1 weekday on seasonal projects contacting the Central Time Zone (i.e. Texas) per week.
  • Ability to work one 3-hour weekend shift per week (12 PM to 3 PM Saturday or 3 PM to 6 PM Sunday).
