We are currently seeking Software Safety Engineers for our team in Huntsville, AL.

The successful candidate with be responsible for the following:

• Conducts software system safety evaluations for DoD systems
• Supports software system requirements identification and development process by evaluating and assessing planning, design, development, production and operations for DoD software systems architectures
• Prepares and writes formal Systems Safety Hazard Analysis Reports to categorize and summarize all potential software-hardware interaction hazards
• Performs software safety-critical and mission-critical systems analysis throughout the life cycle from initial requirements through design, implementation, testing, delivery, and support
• Utilizes excellent written and oral communication skills to maintain successful daily interaction with customer and teammates
• Operates proactively with ability to handle significant responsibility, and attention to detail.

Required Qualifications:

• ABET accredited STEM BS
• Experience developing embedded mission critical software in C, C++, or ADA
• Familiarity with software development/lifecycle IEEE 12207, MIL-STD-498
• Experience with Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and/or Failure Mode, Effects & Critically Analysis (FMECA)
• Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-516, DO-178, MIL-STD-882, JSSSEH, AMCOM Regulation 385-17, SAE ARP 4761, or similar software safety standards
• Knowledge of the integration and verification of large systems
• Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

• Knowledge of static and dynamic code analysis
• Experience with Model Based Software Development
• Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink, Rhapsody, DOORS, SCADE, etc.
