Job Description
A busy multi-unit organization is looking for a part-time accountant to work a maximum of 25-30 hours per week. The position reports to the CFO and would be responsible for the following areas:
1. Financial Reporting
a. Prepare and process journal entries, close 8 company’s books.
b. Responsible for properly recording and reporting cash transactions
c. Prepare balance sheet and expense account analysis and reconciliation’s
d. Participate in financial statement preparation, review and presentation
including variance analysis and written commentary.
e. Prepare year-end schedules and support for external audit.
2. Treasury
a. Track and report daily cash position and bank activity
b. Prepare and execute wire transfers.
c. Responsible for monthly bank account reconciliations for all accounts.
d. Responsible for monthly/quarterly preparation and filing of all Sales & Meals
Tax returns
e. Assist with various other tax matters as required.
3. Other
a. Review data ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting policies and
procedures.
b. Investigate and recommend revisions to accounting procedures and systems to
satisfy process improvement initiatives.
c. Perform special accounting and financial projects as needed.
d. Work as needed in the areas of Inventory Control & Accounts Payable
Requirements:
Bachelors in accounting with three + years experience performing the above responsibilities. Strong computer skills required, knowledge of a fully integrated account package is preferred and Excel is mandatory.
