SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating daily operations with the manufacturing facility to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role oversees production, maintenance, and continuous improvement activities while supporting the Plant Manager in aligning the site’s performance with company-wide goals. The Manufacturing Manager provides hands-on leadership to supervisors and teams, ensuring consistent execution of best practices in metal forming, stamping, and fabrication, and promotes a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct and manage all production activities to ensure schedules, quality standards, and efficiency targets are consistently met.
• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
• Collaborate with the Plant Manager to establish short- and long-term operational goals.
• Monitor ERP and production data to track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, scrap rates, on-time delivery, and equipment utilization.
• Partner with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality to resolve technical issues and support new product introductions.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for production or quality issues.
• Oversee maintenance of equipment and facility to ensure safe and reliable operations.
• Promote and enforce safety programs in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
• Manage labor planning, cross-training, and skills development to ensure workforce flexibility.
• Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and leads to strengthen leadership at all levels.
• Support budget management, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Support the Plant Manager in implementing corrective actions when targets are not met.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain high product standards and customer satisfaction.
• Assist Plant Manager in managing daily manufacturing operations across stamping, tooling, and maintenance departments.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Support training initiatives to develop technical skills and leadership abilities within the workforce.
• Partner with the Tool Room and Maintenance departments to ensure preventative maintenance schedules and tooling readiness.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct supervision of Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisor, and their respective teams.

• Accountability for performance management, employee development, and team alignment with company culture, values, and policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.

• 5–10 years of experience in metal forming, stamping, or fabrication manufacturing.
• Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, production planning, and shop floor control.
• Strong knowledge of tooling, progressive die operations, and equipment maintenance practices.
• Proven leadership in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and team-building skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and analyzing technical documents, financial reports, and legal materials.
• Able to effectively communicate with customers, regulatory bodies, and senior management.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Strong grasp of statistical analysis, probability, geometry, trigonometry, and other applied mathematics.

• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to solve real-world manufacturing problems.

• Demonstrates sound decision-making and leadership capabilities.
• Able to interpret written and verbal instructions and apply logical reasoning to complex situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid California Driver’s License required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a production environment.
• Regularly required to bend, stoop, and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Work performed in a medium-sized metal forming manufacturing facility with required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.).
