Job Title: Corporate Commercial Contracts Attorney

Location: St. Louis, MO

Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days in-office (T/W/Th), 2 days remote (M/F)

Reports To: Legal Department Leadership

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and business-minded Commercial Contracts Attorney to join our legal team supporting a leading utility infrastructure organization. This role will focus on drafting, negotiating, and managing a wide range of commercial agreements and corporate transactions. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to legal risk management and a collaborative mindset to support cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including:
• Purchase and sale agreements for goods and services
• Software licensing and SaaS agreements
• Strategic transactions and real estate lease agreements
• Support corporate transactional work , including M& A, finance, and IP matters
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, procurement, and technology
• Ensure contracts comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies
• Assist in developing and maintaining contract templates and playbooks
• Provide legal guidance on risk mitigation and dispute resolution
• Support legal operations and contribute to process improvements

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Missouri or eligible for in-house counsel registration
• 3+ years of experience in commercial contracts and corporate transactions
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Experience with software licensing, real estate, and complex agreements preferred
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with contract management systems and legal tech tools

Preferred Skills

• Experience in regulated industries such as utilities, energy, or manufacturing
• Proficiency in tools like PracticePanther , Microsoft Office, and document collaboration platforms
• Strong business acumen and ability to align legal strategy with operational goals
