Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an Electrical Preconstruction Estimator in Phoenix, AZ to prepare competitive bids and support business development for commercial electrical projects.

Impact

• Drive revenue growth through accurate estimates that win profitable electrical projects

• Support strategic decision-making with detailed cost analysis and value engineering

• Build strong relationships with general contractors and design teams

• Contribute to preconstruction planning that sets projects up for success

Responsibilities

• Review contract documents, specifications, and drawings for electrical scope

• Perform material take-offs using on-screen digitizing tools and Bluebeam

• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations

• Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead

• Develop bid proposals and coordinate with sales and operations teams

• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site walks

• Provide value engineering alternatives and constructability feedback

• Maintain historical cost data and pricing databases

Requirements

Must-Haves

• 3-5 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial construction

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, NEC requirements, and installation methods

• Proficiency with estimating software (Accubid, ConEst, or similar)

• Experience with Bluebeam for plan review and take-offs

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills

• Strong communication and presentation abilities

Nice-to-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field

• Field experience as an electrician or project manager

• Familiarity with design-build and GMP project delivery methods

• Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial projects
