Project Cost Accountant responsibilities:

• Prepares costs information to be used in operating budget preparation
• Plans, study and collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor
• Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services
• Analyzes manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual product costs
• Records cost information for use in controlling expenditures
• Makes estimates of new and proposed product or service costs
• Financial reporting, preparing supporting schedules, and analyzing data
• Recommends cost efficiencies in new product layouts.
• Appraises and evaluates real property or equipment for sale, acquisition, or tax purposes
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, required.
• 3+ years of experience in Cost Accounting
• Experience with large ERP (Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft, Made2Manage), a plus
• Strong systems skills are highly desired as well as intermediate Excel skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills
