Bookkeeper with Advanced QuickBooks experience

We are seeking an experienced bookkeeper for one of our clients in the Joliet, IL area. For this position you will work closely with the Accounts Receivable specialist to manage the company's financial operations. This position is available for FULL or PART time. You will be required to work in person at the company location.
You will partner closely with the AR specialist who handles all invoicing and accounts receivable. Together you'll ensure smooth operation of our company's financial processes and provide valuable insights to support business decision making. 

• Experience in working with a construction company is a plus.
• Must be experienced in QuickBooks for accounting record keeping and payroll.  
• Experience in processing payroll, associated reporting and tax deposits
• Preparing Union Reports, 941's, social security and unemployment
• Processing Accounts Payable
• Management of insurance policies
• Reconciling bank statements and credit card reports
• Perform account analysis to ensure accuracy
• Assisting leadership with reporting regulatory requirements
• High level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Certified would be great!)

Our Ideal Candidate has:

• An accredited Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting 
• *** A minimum of 5 years of prior bookkeeping experience ***
• A strong knowledge of accounting principals - financial analysis techniques, QuickBooks accounting software, MS Excel and MS Word 
• Experience preparing financial statements
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with colleagues, customers and vendors of the organization.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively 
• Proven track record of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail. 
• Experience in the construction business is a plus
