Job Description

Essential Functions

• Instruct and manage an instrumental music program for students in Lower School (grade 4), Middle School (MS)  (grades 5-8) and Upper School (US) (grades 9-12).
• A willingness to teach 1-2 courses in the Upper School as needed.
• Coordinate concert performances in the Fall and Spring.

• Collaborate with other faculty and staff as part of a community that emphasizes mutual support and shared programmatic creation and implementation.

• Performs other duties as assigned by their Supervisor.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree or post graduate work.
• A minimum of five years experience performing, directing or conducting music.
• A thorough knowledge of musical instruments.
• Proficiency with technology including iPad, learning management systems, and basic G Suite for Education (Google) tools
• Ability to use basic office equipment.
• A commitment to inclusion and issues of social justice and equity.
• Candidates should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to use said skills for the purpose of promoting and growing the program. 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Be able to occasionally lift musical instruments and equipment
• Work primarily in a traditional climate controlled music room environment  
• Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including heat and cold
• Be able to work in a very busy and highly involved environment
