Associate Attorney
Zwelling Law, PLLC is looking for an Associate Attorney to help with our high volume of litigation cases. Candidates should have 3-5 years civil litigation experience, preferably in the area of medical malpractice and/or nursing home litigation. Duties will include managing files from commencement to trial, drafting pleadings, drafting and assembling responses to written discovery, drafting motions, appearing for court calls, writing opinion letters, taking depositions and analyzing clinical data. The position is mostly independent though at times will be reviewed by the firm’s senior partner. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Zwelling Law, PLLC is a firm representing nursing homes in the areas of defense litigation, tax appeals and real estate. Attorney Duties and Responsibilities
· Drafting legal documents, including motions and pleadings
· Review and analyze clinical data
· Assist with the discovery process by administering depositions, issuing interrogatories, and reviewing documents
· Negotiate settlements
· Perform legal research
· Make court appearances as necessary
Attorney Requirements and Qualifications
· Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
· License to practice law in Illinois
· Litigating experience (3-5 years)
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Analytical skills
· Attention to detail
