As our Production / Operations Manager, you will be a key player on our metals manufacturing environment. This role will require you to oversee all aspects of aluminum casting production, including scheduling, quality control, and procurement. You will be responsible for ensuring that all production operations are carried out efficiently and effectively, meeting both internal and external quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of aluminum casting production, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize production capacity.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are available for production.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions, and lead initiatives to implement these changes.
- Collaborate with other department heads to align production activities with overall company goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Manage a team of production staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback as needed.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production activities and performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the metals manufacturing industry, specifically in aluminum casting production.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, quality control, and procurement processes.
- Proven experience in managing and leading a production team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address production issues promptly and effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in using production management software and other relevant IT systems.
- A degree in a relevant field, such as Engineering or Manufacturing Management, would be an advantage.
- A strong commitment to health and safety in the workplace.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of work.
