As a Student Nurse Intern, you will work under direct supervision, providing essential support in both routine and technical aspects of nursing care for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with patient care activities while adhering to best practices and protocols.
Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure compliance with the Joint Commission and other relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Help maintain a safe and healing environment for patients and families.
Units Available for Student Nurse Interns in Detroit Lakes:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
Emergency Department (ED)
Medical/Surgical
BC/Med/Surg Rotation
Procedural Units: OR/Endoscopy
Units Available for Student Nurse Interns in Critical Access Hospital for Fosston, Ada and Graceville:
Emergency Department (ED)
Medical/Surgical
Internship Requirements:
Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program
Bachelor’s Degree Students: must have completed Junior year of nursing program prior to Summer 2025
Associate Degree Students: must have completed two semesters of nursing clinical prior to Summer 2025
Enrolled in a nursing co-operative internship course for the summer 2025 semester
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within one month of hire
Must be able to commit to 32-40 hours/week (up to 400 hours for the entiresummer). Shifts: day, night, and weekend
Students with full/part-time summer class loads will have adjusted hour requirements and must be able to commit to 32 hours every two weeks
