2 days ago Be among the first 25 applicants Overview The Weddings and Event Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the overall operations of catering events such as weddings, meetings, parties, reunions, etc.; This includes the planning, preparation, and execution of the events. Thorough knowledge of Food & Beverage outlet and catering operations including foods, beverages, service techniques, and guest interaction. Responsibilities Be familiar with all the resorts services/features and local attractions in order to assist the guest Greets all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness and maintain positive guest relations at all times Effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions. Provides the highest level of service in accordance with our standards Conduct sites for client appointments and walk-in inquiries Detail the event with the client Work with the client, Director of Food & Beverage and Chef to create a proper menu Be available to the client pre-event and present during the event Responsible for the appearance of the event room and all decoration details See the event through to its final stage of client feedback Responsible for obtaining all direct bill and credit approvals of groups arriving at the property Responsible for the review of all bills that are sent to the client. In reviewing bills, they should be accurate and timely to maximize return business Act as a liaison between the sales and operations department of the hotel to ensure a successful event for the clients and all the client’s needs are met and communicated accurately and efficiently to all departments of the hotel Compile all Banquet Event Orders and group resumes for Catering and Conference groups Coordinates all audiovisual requirements of the client and ensures that proper equipment is ordered Participate in weekly sales meetings and operations meetings to communicate the upcoming client’s and group’s needs Develops relationships with guests Communicates with food and beverage staff to ensure guest satisfaction Maintains complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures and standards Performs related tasks and functions as requested by director In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of additional supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel Qualifications Must have wedding planning experience College degree required or any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and experience Positive attitude, service-minded with excellent people skills Team player Must be able to multi-task Strong attention to detail and organization Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays Must be able to lift and carry at least 50lbs Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time Must be quick on their feet and adept at handling stressful situations seamlessly Strong computer skills Details Seniority level: Entry level Employment type: Full-time Job function: Management and Manufacturing Industries: Hospitality Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Pyramid Global Hospitality by 2x Get notified about new Event Manager jobs in Chatham, MA . #J-18808-Ljbffr Pyramid Global Hospitality
