Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatrics position with required travel experience, night shifts, and advanced PALS, BLS, and NIH certifications.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Position is in a hospital Pediatrics unit
• Night shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts from 18:00 to 06:00
• Unit has 14 patient beds with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Patient population includes cardiac observation and post-surgical observation cases
• MS/Tele and remote monitoring required, with starting IVs as a core skill
• Epic EMR experience is required
• Scrub color is charcoal grey
• Primary responsibilities include care for pediatric patients requiring cardiac and post-surgical observation
• No local travelers accepted from specified counties
• No travel pairs or groups permitted
• Previous permanent staff must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

\n \n Requirements\n

• Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric RN experience
• Prior travel nurse experience is required
• Certifications required: PALS, BLS, NIHSS
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills in MS/Tele, starting IVs, remote monitoring required
• Preferred skills include cardiac telemetry, ER holding, interpretation of dysrhythmias, phlebotomy, heparin protocols, nasal cannula, and portable oxygen tank management
• Candidates residing within 50 miles or in specified counties are not eligible
