Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must have active license in hand to apply Certifications: ACLS and BLS required Must-Have: Experience in MS/Tele, Telemetry, Cardiac Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown. Skills in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias. Experience with telemetry, both on-unit and remote monitoring. Comfortable with post cardiac angiogram and post MI care. Experience in pre/post cardiac catheterization and pre/post cardiac surgery management. Skilled in sheath removal and TR band. Experience with feeding tube care and management. Management of pre/post hemodialysis and renal failure. Proficient in IV therapy and phlebotomy skills, including accessing ports and arterial line management. Experience in administering blood products and managing central and peripheral lines. Skilled in medication management with heparin protocols, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips. Experience in managing PCA and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. Experience with strokes (CVA) and surgical drains management. Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula. Familiar with isolation precautions and wound care, including wound vac management. Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in intermediate care. The nurse will work night shifts with an average daily census of 38 patients. The role involves providing care for patients with cardiac conditions, respiratory issues, and gastrointestinal needs. The nurse will monitor cardiac telemetry and respond to emergency situations accordingly. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for effective patient management. Nurses will provide education and support to patients and families as required. Previous charge experience is preferred along with familiarity with electronic charting systems. Teaching hospital experience is a plus, as well as experience in a Level I trauma setting. Candidates should be prepared to float to similar units as necessary.
