Job Description

Position: Therapeutic Recovery Coach

Status: Part-Time, PRN (per circumstance and as needed)

Compensation Scale:
Bachelors - $25 - $70
Masters - $70 - $135
PhD/Doctorate - $130 - $165
Final rate of pay may vary from the above based on experience and skill set and will be mutually agreed upon during the interview process.

Who We Are: Intent Clinical offers a continuum of services to guide individuals and families through the behavioral health industry by providing concierge-level care, identifying suitable treatment and aftercare options, and assisting in creating and implementing sustainable recovery plans. We address the needs of those struggling with behavioral health issues including substance use disorders, mental health issues, eating disorders, and mood and personality disorders. We also support individuals on the autism spectrum, aging adults with dementia, and young adults struggling with transitions to independence.

Who you are: You are professional, dependable, and able to tailor your therapeutic approach according to each client’s specific needs. You are knowledgeable about clinical mental health diagnosis and have client-facing behavioral health experience. You are dedicated to the client’s well-being, understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion, and are adept at managing crises while remaining calm and focused. You are comfortable with a flexible work schedule and being assigned cases on an as-needed basis. The ideal case management/recovery coach candidate is adept at working independently while thriving with supervision and guidance.

What You’ll Do:

  • Participate in initial consults and write corresponding consult reports.
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments on clients.
  • Review past treatment records and contact clinical providers.
  • Coordinate and help to complete a comprehensive consultation addressing the client’s educational, vocational, recreational, and social needs.
  • Define what clinical services will be accessed and how frequently. Facilitate efficient communication between treatment team, client, and family coach.
  • Assist in selecting a school program. Support a client’s school plan, including class selection, connections, and school-based resources (i.e., tutoring and counseling).
  • Assess vocational interests, provide short-term support for finding and keeping a job, and plan long-term towards career goals.
  • Discover clients’ interests in cultural, sports-related, and artistic pursuits. Connect to appropriate resources.
  • Develop skills to pursue healthy behaviors and cultivate a positive support network.
  • Create and monitor a budget, assist with time management and other basic living skills as needed.
  • Create short and long-term client goal plans; document progress daily.
  • Meet with clients 1-5 times per week in the community or home settings to monitor progress, with follow-up calls as appropriate.
  • Provide connections to community resources, treatment options, peer counselors, and AA companions as appropriate.
  • Conduct observed in-home drug testing and Soberlink monitoring if appropriate.
  • Offer emergency support, be on-call, and provide client transportation as needed.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What you’ll bring:

  • One year or more of direct client experience in behavioral health or related fields.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Ability to calmly, flexibly, and efficiently manage client crises as they arise.
  • Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and behavioral health treatments.
  • Comfort and quick learning curve with technology for day-to-day tasks (i.e., Microsoft Office, Salesforce).

You ideally have (but not required):

  • Experience working as a recovery coach, mental health clinician, or therapeutic companion.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth families.
  • Professional licensure (i.e., LMSW, LMHC, LMFT).
  • Engagement in community service initiatives focused on underserved communities.
  • An understanding of social responsibility and how to contribute positively to the well-being of others.
