SUMMER SCHOOL BUILDING ADMINISTRATIVE SECRETARY

Job Goal
Under direction, is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, receptionist and secretarial duties in a school setting. Assure the smooth and efficient operation of the summer school office to support a positive educational experience for students. Students will have just completed grades 2 and 3rd grades. The academic focus will be on reading, writing, and mathematics. Summer School teachers will help select the materials and resources we use for student instruction. Each Friday will highlight a student experience such as guest speakers who come to our students, possibly including COSI, Columbus Zoo, Ballet Met, and Social Emotional Learning.
Typical Duties (anyone position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed)
* Answers telephone calls in a pleasant manner, takes and delivers phone and fax messages to staff members;
* Tracks student attendance, calls parents to check on absent students and maintains a daily attendance log;
* Registers students, checks documents and maintains permanent record files;
* Administers basic first aid, takes temperatures, and issues medications as required;
* Prepares letters, memoranda, records, reports and other documents from clear copy, rough draft, and other sources
* Maintains general and confidential files and data bases;
* Orders, inventories and distributes supplies for the staff of the school;
* Creates and prints class/homeroom lists for teachers and principal;
* Maintains inventories and orders supplies for the school;
* Calls parents regarding incidents at the school and checks parents and visitors in and out of the school;
* Performs secretarial and office management tasks;
* Performs budgeting, requisitioning, and bookkeeping tasks as needed following Board policy and District guidelines;
* Assists in scheduling and enrollment of students in summer school;
* Duties as assigned by Principal of Summer School

HOURS: Elementary: 7:30AM-12:30PM
SALARY: Per Hourly Rate
