Job Description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and will assist in various accounting functions, including general ledger management, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end/year-end close processes. The Staff Accountant will collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely financial records while adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
• Manage and maintain general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely payments and collections
• Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
• Support payroll processing, including verifying time sheets, calculating deductions, and assisting with tax filings
• Prepare and submit necessary reports for tax filings, including sales tax and payroll tax returns
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with company policies
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as needed
• Help maintain accurate records of company expenses, invoices, and receipts
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities
• Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects as required by the accounting manager or senior leadership

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or accounting firm environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in financial records
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
• CPA or pursuing CPA designation
• Experience with tax filings and audits
• Experience with cloud-based accounting systems
