Job Description:

The Senior Manager, Revenue Cycle Management (Radiology) is responsible for project initiatives and oversight of Radiology and Radiation Oncology revenue cycle management (RCM) teams. This individual will manage RCM personnel, drive RCM projects and utilize analytics to guide workflow optimization and benchmarking. This role will also serve as an operational and subject matter expert for RCM as it relates to radiology and radiation oncology services.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee front and back end RCM functions for the radiology service line including authorizations, eligibility, billing, AR, and patient financial services.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities by developing a firm understanding of workflows, best practices, and current bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with front office and clinic leaders implementing best practice workflows to improve RCM-related operations.
  • Communicate and implement policies and procedures for radiology service line in both new and existing practices.
  • Develop training materials for education of radiology service line.
  • Ensure billing compliance in accordance with payer and CPT and coding guidelines.
  • Develop and assess team benchmarks with management, recommending staffing levels as appropriate.
  • Monitor key KPI metrics and report outliers to leadership.
  • Oversee hiring, discipline, performance evaluation and other necessary aspects of team management.
  • Work with the analytics team to identify meaningful metrics for deep dive RCM review.
  • Participate in committees and work alongside payer and finance teams to optimize revenue opportunities.
  • Identify and address AR issues/trends with payors related to radiology service lines.
  • Participate directly in completion of various financial metrics, AR collectability and end of month report-outs to executive leaders.
  • Manage projects related to radiology and serve as RCM operations lead to assure seamless integration of new business lines, physicians and centers.
  • Lead contracting efforts for radiology service line working closely with payer relations and contracting team.
  • Maximize IT system integrations for RIS, PACS, Radiation Oncology EMR, Medical Oncology EMR and Practice Management systems.
  • Work effetively in a matrix environment where multiple and competing customer demands are likely.
  • Other duties as assigned to help drive our mission of improving the lives of everyone living with cancer.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years in relevant healthcare and RCM leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • Prior experience with proton therapy and radiation oncology/radiology revenue cycle required
  • Coding certification preferred
  • Knowledge of third-party payor regulations with the ability to interpret contracts and payor guidelines is required
  • Prior project management experience preferred
  • Hands-on knowledge of both front office and business office in a healthcare setting required
  • Prior working experience within a physician practice business office is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals with various degrees of training and education.
  • Strong Microsoft suite skills required including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of practice management software preferred
  • Experience with Centricity, Unlimited Systems and ARIA is a plus
  • High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information
  • Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends
