Software Principal Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Principal Engineer you will develop tools and software on the TNT team. Our team delivers next-generation application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications, and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

You will:

• Solve business and customer issues utilizing AI/ML; design and build analytics solutions that deliver transformative insights from extremely large data sets; design, develop and implement web applications for self-service delivery of analytics; build prototypes and scalable AI/ML solutions that will be integrated into software products
• Design and develop application programming interfaces (API), database objects, machine learning algorithms and necessary server-side code to support applications
• Have complete ownership of model outcomes and drive continuous improvement
• Conduct brainstorming sessions with stakeholders and technical teams to understand needs and propose solutions
• Collaborate with the analytics team for the development of reports and dashboards

• 8+ years’ experience creating scalable and efficient software or equivalent skill with a deep understanding of systems architecture
• Strong coding skills in Python or Java (C# and C a plus); proficiency in Oracle databases with hands-on experience in Database Management
• Experience with testing frameworks e.g. Jest, Mocha and methodologies; experience with data analytics tools e.g., Power BI, Tableau and machine learning algorithms using Python libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow and Keras
• Background working with Linux and Linux tools
• Expertise in DevOps practices and tools, including Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Kafka, and GitHub Actions for continuous integration and deployment

 

Desirable Requirements

• Undergraduate or Graduate degree in a qualitative field e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering
• Experience with Machine Learning model development utilizing large data sets and knowledge of Deep Learning, NLP, Classification, Forecasting, Regression, GenAI etc.

Compensation: Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Base Salary Range for this role in is $161,500 to $209,000.
