Social Media Specialist/Copywriter - B2B Healthcare/Medical
Position Overview
Our healthcare client is seeking a part-time Social Media Specialist/Copywriter to support an internal team in strengthening their presence on X/Twitter, where all content for this role will be published. This position focuses heavily on developing compelling, accurate social copy and translating complex medical and technical content into engaging, Twitter-friendly formats. The ideal candidate has strong editorial instincts, experience with B2B or scientific/medical subject matter, and the ability to craft concise, high-impact messaging tailored for Twitter's fast-moving environment.
This is a remote, part-time, 6-month contract estimated to be about 10 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Strategy & Development
- Write clear, engaging, and accurate Twitter copy that distills complex medical or technical topics into digestible, platform-appropriate posts.
- Partner with the internal editorial team to identify articles and research appropriate for sharing on Twitter.
- Maintain a structured Twitter content calendar, ensuring consistent posting cadence aligned with publication timelines.
- Coordinate or develop creative assets (graphics, visuals, thumbnails) to accompany Twitter posts.
- Publishing & Execution
- Schedule all content directly to Twitter using approved tools or native scheduling features.
- Monitor the Twitter account daily for engagement opportunities, audience questions, or potential issues requiring escalation.
- Analytics & Optimization
- Track Twitter performance metrics and generate regular reports.
- Analyze engagement trends and optimize content based on insights.
- Recommend improvements to strengthen reach, clarity, and audience engagement on Twitter.
Qualifications
- Availability for approximately 10 hours per week, with potential for expanded responsibilities over time.
- Basic design skills or familiarity with creative tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Express).
- Exceptional copywriting skills with the ability to translate complex or scientific content into concise, social-friendly language.
- Familiarity with X/Twitter best practices, analytics tools, and scheduling platforms.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing a content calendar.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and respond quickly to emerging needs.
Nice to Haves
- Experience managing social media for B2B, healthcare, academic, or technical organizations, ideally with a strong focus on Twitter.
- Understanding of social media compliance considerations in healthcare environments.
