Kiefer Mazda, a customer-focused and well-established automotive dealership, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Detail Manager to lead and oversee our vehicle presentation operations. This is a key position responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and quality control in both our new and pre-owned vehicle inventory. As the Detail Manager, you will play an essential role in maintaining the dealership’s reputation for excellence in customer satisfaction and vehicle quality.

Job Description:

As the Detail Manager, you will be responsible for:

Leadership & Team Management:

  • Overseeing and supervising a team of detailers, ensuring the efficient execution of vehicle cleaning and preparation processes.
  • Training, mentoring, and providing ongoing support to detail staff to ensure high-quality work.
  • Assigning tasks, setting priorities, and ensuring that all vehicles are prepared and presented to dealership standards in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring effective communication and collaboration between the detail team, sales, and service departments to meet daily goals and deadlines.

Vehicle Cleaning & Preparation:

  • Ensuring all new and pre-owned vehicles are thoroughly cleaned, detailed, and prepared for display and customer deliveries.
  • Overseeing the interior and exterior detailing of vehicles, ensuring that each vehicle exceeds customer expectations in terms of cleanliness and appearance.

Quality Control & Standards:

  • Conducting regular quality checks to maintain high standards for vehicle presentation.
  • Identifying and addressing any issues with vehicle appearance or detailing promptly, and taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Ensuring the proper use of detailing products, tools, and equipment.

Inventory & Workflow Management:

  • Managing and organizing detailing supplies, ensuring that necessary materials are always in stock and properly maintained.
  • Monitoring the workflow of the detail department to ensure timely completion of tasks and customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting and addressing any equipment maintenance or repair needs in a timely manner.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience as an automotive detailer, with previous management or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle detailing products, tools, and techniques.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
