Base pay range

$175,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Project Engineer/Manager for our San Francisco, CA or Concord, CA office. Candidate will lead I&C system engineering services and designs for the water and wastewater industry. This will managing include both in-plant and remote telemetry (SCADA) projects with the potential for HMI/PLC programming/configuration work.

• Hazen West I&C Group, is a rapidly growing group, actively working with several large water districts across the state of California. This opportunity is to be the first I&C employee in Northern California , with the potential to help recruit and mentor additional Northern California I&C staff in the near-ter m future .

• Preparing Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), control system network diagrams, control panel wiring diagrams, equipment layouts, and installation details.
• Supervision and mentorship of less experienced staff
• Site visits, client workshops and managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Coordinating with the other disciplines (process/mechanical, structural, architectural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and site civil).
• Performing quality reviews of BIM models, Revit families, and CAD based files used in the production of contract documents.
• Inspect, witness equipment testing, and approve of I&C work provided by contractors at water and wastewater facilities.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 12+ years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of industrial process instrumentation, equipment, and controls.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, or AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills are essential for coordination with other disciplines, and client interface.
• PE License or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

• Knowledge of water/wastewater process instrumentation, equipment, and controls.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers, designers, and other staff.
• PLC/HMI configuration/programming experience
• Electrical design experience
• Experience communicating and coordinating with clients, particularly W/WW clients.
