About the Role

Lightship is seeking a talented Senior Industrial Designer to join us in redefining the future of recreational vehicles. As an Industrial Designer, you will take part in directly shaping the physical experience of our brand to our customers. You will work closely with ID, CMF, and 3D on various needs - across the exterior and interior - in various capacities. You will engage with cross-functional teams to solve challenges and bring exciting things to life.

Responsibilities
  • Work with the Lightship design team on a number of design opportunities across Interior, Exterior, and Accessories
  • Work through all phases of the design process, from concept through production
  • Use a variety of tools to explore and mature designs: Sketching, CAD, hands-on prototypes
  • Interface with 3D modelers, engineering, and cross-functional teams to progress designs toward a production ready solution
  • Drive one or multiple simultaneous projects
  • Deliver quality work with a positive and respectful manner in a fast paced environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Design
  • 5+ years of related industry experience
  • Strong sense of curiosity and alignment with the design vision for our brand
  • Strong sense of form and aesthetic sensibilities represented in an outstanding portfolio (please be sure to link when applying)
  • Strong visual communication skills and problem solving abilities
  • Understanding of a wide variety of manufacturing processes
  • US citizen or qualified US work visa

Preferred Qualifications
  • Interior-related work experience (automotive, architectural, furniture)
  • Cultural awareness around the outdoor space
  • Experience in working within all phases of the design process

Equity
  • Lightship compensation consists of the yearly salary above plus equity, which gives you a stake in the company.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year

Onsite/Hybrid Work

Hybrid roles at Lightship require onsite work from our offices Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Tuesdays and Fridays are optional work from home days, when your work will be executed more successfully from home. Speak to the hiring manager to learn more.
