The Senior Audio-Visual Engineer position will promote and adhere to company and audio-visual industry standards for Design, Installation, Commissioning, and Quality Control to fulfill and exceed customer expectations. This is an advanced technical position within the audio-visual department. Working in connection with our AV Portfolio leads and operation staff, the audio-visual Senior Audio-Visual Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering documentation, testing, commissioning systems, client training, and technical assistance for all projects. This person will be responsible for completing entire tasks or assigned portions of projects in a timely and reliable manner while providing leadership and technical support to projects as needed.
The Senior Audio-Visual Engineer assists with providing oversight of any AV technicians assigned to projects and/or tasks and is also expected to perform the same duties as all other Technicians while not leading, managing, organizing, or communicating with customers.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 6 years (plus) experience in the audio-visual industry with system integration and commissioning.
- AV Systems and Video System installation and commissioning experience and certifications. (Crestron, AMX, Extron, Cisco, and Poly)
- Audio visual solutions design and estimating for clients.
- Project management
- Ability to stage, test, calibrate, and commission equipment and devices to produce fully functional systems. This includes display systems, DSPs, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, amplifiers, control pads, and other active and passive devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engineering & design support to deploy new technology within HQ and across field offices.
- Coordinate technical, architectural, and construction requirements with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Onsite Management
- Prepare and stage systems for Quality Control testing as applicable
- Support system installation to successfully deliver projects on schedule and within budget
- Perform system configuration, commissioning, and test acceptance to verify full operation.
- Ability to operate and demonstrate system capabilities to end users for optimal performance.
- Support remote testing for local and regional offices
- Perform preventative maintenance to resolve problems or escalate to the appropriate OEM.
- Interact with client Customer Help Desk ticketing system to respond to end-user requests
- Responsible for escalating all “next level” break-fix issues to their manager for resolution
- Assist with creating AV design guides, catalogs, and brochures
- Assist with creating content for new AV products on the market
- Perform Quality Assurance testing and generate documentation on results.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of AV installation, system operation, & maintenance.
- 2+ years of UCC installation, system operation, & maintenance (preferred)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with current Poly & Cisco endpoint systems
- 2+ years with Network Setup & Configuration
- 3+ years with System Commissioning
- 3+ years with System Designing, Auto, & Drafting
- 2+ years of Estimating
- 3+ years of Project Management and/or coordinating projects
- Ability to read & understand cabling pull schedules, floor plans, ceiling plans, riser diagrams & line diagrams.
- Strong knowledge/experience of signal flow, audio-visual signal types, connector types & terminations.
- Strong knowledge/experience with control/automation system: Crestron, AMX, and Extron.
- Strong knowledge/experience with audio DSPs: QSC, Biamp, Clearone, Symetrix.
- Strong knowledge/experience with digital video/audio transmission and protocols.
CERTIFICATIONS & ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- AVIXA CTS Certification (Desired)
- AVIXA CTS-I Certification (Desired)
- AVIXA CTS-D Certification (Preferred)
- Industry certifications are a plus:
- Crestron, AMX, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Clearone, LifeSize, Polycom, Cisco, Infocomm, Etc.
- Above average proficiency in MS Office Suite. (Reporting and documentation of activities)
- High School diploma (Desired)
- Technical college certificates or degree is a plus.
- Audio production and/or video production knowledge is a plus.
- Programming & UI development experience is a plus.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks (e.g., installing displays & video bars), which may require lifting 75lbs or more working in a construction environment with ladders and machinery operating.
- Travel is required in the DC Metro area and to Regional Offices (CONUS)
- Requires valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must be flexible; This position may require travel and the ability to work nights and/or weekends in order to meet the project(s) demands.
- US Citizenship, ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance which requires background verification.
