Job Description:

• Ability to be enthusiastic, flexible, and work cooperatively with students, parents, teachers and administrators\n\t
• Familiarity with, or ability to be trained in, a variety of interventions and instructional resources including Unique Learning System, Edmark, Orton-Gillingham, Touch Math, etc\n\t
• Willingness and commitment to include equity, social justice, and inclusion in all practices\n\t
• Knowledge of and accuracy in completing IEPs, present level statements, measurable goals and objectives, and documentation of progress toward goals and objectives\n\t
• Ability to develop and implement positive behavior support plans and the use of Restorative Practices\n\t
• Ability to teach organizational and social strategies to students to facilitate success in general education\n\t
• Ability to transform instruction through the creative use of technology\n\t
• Knowledge in instructional practices for varied learning styles and individual student needs across multiple grade levels\n\t
• Ability to provide specially designed instruction across multiple grade levels\n\t
• Strong background in using assessment and data to inform instruction and document student progress\n\t
• Successful classroom management strategies and skills\n

Education and Certification Requirements:

• All candidates must have a State of Michigan Special Education Teaching Certificate \n
