Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Revenue Accountant for a temporary remote position. This role is perfect for someone with a strong accounting background, particularly in revenue recognition and contract management. As a Revenue Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in processing customer applications, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring proper revenue recognition in line with industry standards. Key Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications, ensuring all records are up-to-date.
Ensure compliance with internal policies during contract review and accounting processes.
Review project activation requests and assess underlying contracts to ensure proper documentation for revenue accounting under ASC 606.
Validate the completeness of contract change order documents as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (billing, legal, practice engagement, and operations) to identify and resolve issues during project life cycle maintenance and closure.
Provide technical accounting expertise to business engagement management and the legal department to optimize terms for timely revenue recognition.
Review re-estimated budgets to ensure alignment with contract terms.
Act as a subject matter expert on the revenue implications of contract terms and conditions.
Maintain and update accurate customer credit records.
Apply system flags to transactions based on contract terms, volume discounts, non-standard conditions, and other relevant factors.
Share ideas and requirements with IT configuration partners for system improvements.
Leverage proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office Suites, and Outlook for day-to-day tasks.
Familiarity with the "About Time" software is a plus.
Required Skills and Experience:
Expertise in various accounting functions, with a strong understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR).
In-depth knowledge of Accrual Accounting principles.
Experience with auditing procedures and revenue recognition standards, particularly ASC 606.
Ability to interpret and manage legal contracts.
Proven experience in contract administration and management.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and Outlook.
