Job Description
Coco Jerk , a bold and vibrant Caribbean concept at Union Market, is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee both our kitchen operations and front-of-house food stall .
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, brings energy to the team, and ensures every guest walks away with an unforgettable experience.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations across both the kitchen and food stall
Lead, train, and motivate staff to uphold exceptional food and service standards
Maintain inventory, prep systems, food safety, and cleanliness protocols
Oversee scheduling, hiring, and team development with an emphasis on accountability
Monitor labor and food costs while finding opportunities for efficiency
Ensure seamless execution during peak service hours and events
Collaborate with ownership on business goals, marketing efforts, and menu innovation
Qualifications
3+ years of experience managing both BOH and FOH in a restaurant or food stall setting
Deep understanding of kitchen operations, prep systems, and food safety
Experience with POS, scheduling, and inventory systems (e.g., Toast, 7Shifts)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and team-driven
ServSafe or DC Food Manager’s Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
