LOCATION: Office of Research Affairs
SALARY: $47,376.72+ per year, depending upon education and experience, GH
POSITION PURPOSE: This position will ensure that researchers have the necessary resources to conduct their projects in full adherence to sponsored research agreements. The primary responsibilities will include export control compliance, federal IP reporting, and licensing due diligence and enforcement. This position will also oversee compliance-related projects, facilitate training programs, and provide guidance to researchers and staff. By effectively managing these areas, this position will contribute to the institution's overall compliance efforts and support the success of research initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of :
- Compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies
- Project management principles and practices
- General administrative processes in purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and other government operations
- Computer systems and common applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- English language skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Work processes and practices related to public administration, management, and relevant professional fields
- Basic statistical measures, research methods (e.g., data collection, analysis, interpretation), and database maintenance
Ability to: - Understand applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations
- Analyze information
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments
- Prepare clear and concise reports
- Organize and prioritize work, coordinate schedules, understand and relay instructions, and meet deadlines
- Gather, interpret, read, comprehend, compile, analyze , and summarize data from a variety of sources
- Communicate information clearly and concisely in person and/or on the telephone, exercising tact, patience, and professional demeanor
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships, interacting in a supportive manner with a variety of cultures and personalities, industry partners, faculty, staff, students, and the public
- Lift and carry boxes weighing up to approximately 20 lbs.
- Use a computer, including lettering, layout, and image editing tools, and other office equipment
- Provide outstanding customer service
