POSITION SUMMARY

Perform a variety of duties to assist in daily project tasks; configuration, setup, and execution of tests to support R&D and manufacturing processes. Follow established written instructions, possess a strong attention to detail and be safety focused, with minimal supervision. Ability to carefully observe, document work and communicate effectively.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine lab functions including generating/testing samples, maintaining lab equipment, and cleaning the lab.
• Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, cost-effective manner with minimal supervision.
• Carry out various analyses, collect and evaluate the data and communicate results.
• Maintain complete and accurate records, data books and other required documentation.
• Follow and promote the use of safe working practices.
• Perform other duties as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Chemical lab work experience preferred, but not required.
• Plastics processing and terminology knowledge a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma/GED required. BS in Chemistry a plus.
• Chemical lab experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills required, knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint a plus.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

• Strong attention to detail, organized, and methodical mindset.

• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to work with a team or self-directed as required.
• Interest in learning new skills about plastics processing and terminology.
• Interest in working in a research-oriented environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to stand or walk for long extended periods of time.
• Occasional lifting up to 55 pounds.
• Must be able to bend and twist.
