Eliot is offering an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team of Mental Health professionals operating in the Lowell area. The ideal individual will join us at our 9 bed Respite residential program and providing a high level of care through our Respite outreach service for adults with persistent & severe mental illness.

Our Respite Nurse candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and will have 2 years experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illnesses. This person will provide oversight, guidance and assistance to clients in understanding their medical conditions; as well as performing any appropriate direct medical care that is needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and consultation to consumers and staff regarding medical health, medication and medical topics
• Provide 1:1 training in specific individualized need areas
• Develop and conduct groups and trainings for consumers and staff in general areas of health and wellness including nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation
• Assist consumers with accessing community resources that will support and assist with addressing needs and health wellness efforts
• Provide oversight, guidance and assistance to consumers with understanding their medical conditions
• Meet with consumers and staff to discuss any medical diagnoses and conditions, causes, symptoms, complications, and treatment options
• Perform direct medical care for a consumer as appropriate and ordered by physician which may include monitoring of vitals, wound care, etc. This includes providing interventions specific to consumer IAP for medical/health and wellness goal areas
• Review all medical documentation for each consumer at respite and as assigned and provide medical care consultation and coordination as needed
• Provide assistance coordinating overall medical care for consumers and ensuring medical follow up is done as needed
• Provide interventions to consumers that focus on education and skills training in relation to health and wellness issues. Assist the team and consumers by providing methods for on-going assessment of symptoms and treatment effectiveness and identify appropriate responses/actions.

Schedule: Thursday-Saturday, 11pm-9am(30 hours)

Compensation: $54,420.00 salary
