Barvin is a privately held commercial real estate investment and development firm located in Houston, Texas owned by Houston-based entrepreneur, Eric Barvin. Our commercial real estate platform serves as asset manager over a portfolio of multi-family residential properties totaling over 4,500 units located in Texas and Georgia. Our strategic plan is focused on growing Barvin’s holdings to over 16,000 units over the next five (5) years. Our mission is to own, develop and manage assets that endure the test of time. We focus on operational excellence, data driven investment decisions and going above and beyond for our residents.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Barvin is currently seeking a detail oriented, and self-motivated finance / data analysis professional to help in Asset Management and Operations. The candidate will be primarily involved in supporting our ongoing efforts in financial modeling, data aggregation, operational optimization, and data validation.. This role requires keen analytical skills, proficiency in financial modeling, and the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights. This position reports to the Director of Research and Analytics and is based in Houston.

DUTIES/EXPECTATIONS

• Develop a deep understanding of the Company's asset management strategy and operational objectives, including competitive positioning within the industry.
• Conduct in-depth analyses of economic and industry trends, applying insights to optimize asset performance and operational efficiencies.
• Collaborate in the creation, refinement, and review of financial models, with a focus on asset valuation, performance forecasting, and risk analysis.
• Perform data aggregation and ensure the accuracy and quality of data used in asset management and operational decision-making.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, including executive management, detailing asset performance, operational outcomes, and strategic recommendations.
• Provide ad hoc financial and operational analysis to support key decisions and enhance the efficiency of asset management practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in finance or accounting preferred.
• Multifamily and/or real estate experience is a plus but not required.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, charts, conditional formatting, INDEX/MATCH, SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, etc.).
• Knowledge of statistics, including the tools that can be found in the Excel Data Analysis Toolpak, such as multiple regression.
• Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and multiple demands.
• Natural curiosity and desire to succeed in a demanding, innovative environment.
• Demonstrated analytical or financial modeling skills.
• Critical thinking skills and a proactive problem-solving approach.
• Must be able to work in a challenging and high-stress environment.
• Must be willing to work outside typical business hours when required for certain calendar-driven events.
