Join SMH Consultants as a Licensed Land Surveyor!

SMH is on the lookout for a skilled and motivated Professional Land Surveyor to lead our survey team in our Manhattan, Kansas office. In this role, you’ll be a key leader in guiding our dedicated survey team of 10 survey professionals while creating reports and documentation that drive client projects forward.

What You'll Do :

• Lead a Team : Manage and mentor a team of talented survey professionals while ensuring high-quality work.
• Hands-On Projects : Prepare and review fieldwork, plats, topographic surveys, and legal descriptions. You’ll also create scopes of work and cost estimates.
• Client Engagement : Communicate directly with clients to ensure project requirements are met.
• Team Development: Train and support the survey team and implement innovative survey techniques as industry standards evolve.

What We're Looking For:

• Survey Expertise: Proficient in boundary, topographic, utility surveys, construction staking, planting, and legal descriptions
• Infrastructure Insight : Experience with construction plans related to land development, highways, water, sewer, and utility projects
• KDOT Familiarity: Background in producing engineering and boundary surveys for projects involved with the Kansas Department of Transportation
• Licensure: A current Professional Land Surveyor License in Kansas; additional licensure in adjacent states is a plus.
• CAD Proficiency : Comfortable with survey data software (preferably compatible with Autodesk Civil 3D) and open to exploring new tools and technologies
• Professional Experience : 5-10 years as a licensed surveyor
