JOB DESCRIPTION JIB Medical is seeking an experienced Injection Nurse to join our JIB Medical team of professionals. Reporting to the Nurse Manager, the Nurse will be responsible for but not limited to:
• Observe, report and record patient's condition, reaction to drugs and treatment, compile and record all patient laboratory information in our electronic health record
• Assist physicians during clinical procedures and department specific therapies
• Record patient histories and vital signs, venipuncture, injections and collect/prep specimens.
• Monitor use and ordering of equipment, surgical instruments, and supplies
• Triage calls and advise appropriate clinicians when necessary
• Assist in improving and maintaining our electronic health record
• Maintain precise records of all specimens obtained and sent for testing
• Weekly maintenance of equipment and medications/supplies for emergency carts
• Ensure all medications and injections are logged and accounted for
• Prepare and administer prescribed medication in accordance with standards
• Other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Work Environment This job operates in a professional outpatient medical office -patient centered environment. This role routinely uses standard medical instruments/systems and office equipment such as desktop computers, phone, scanner, printer, keyboard, photocopiers, shredder and fax.
Physical Demands Sedentary work environment with physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift files, pull charts/forms/documents, stand, bending, face-face interaction with patients and physicians, using medical instruments, open/close filing cabinets etc., as necessary.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work • Must be flexible available to cover the Nurse Manager as needed
• Work schedule will be 14.5 hours per week and coordinated with the Nurse Manager.
Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Requirements Required Experience, Skills, and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree -BSN plus related experience
• Must have a current New York State Registered Nurse License
• BLS and PPD Required -ACLS Preferred
• EMR E-Clinical Works Experience required
• HIPAA Compliance
• Minimum of two years of experience
