Prequel is seeking candidates for a Payroll Specialist position with a flagship financial services company in the greater Pittsburgh area. This is a long term 16-month contract position and includes:

• W2 hourly pay rate in range of $25-$31 per hour, depending on experience
• Hybrid working model (2 days WFH, 3 days onsite in downtown Pittsburgh)

• 8:30am-5pm workday Monday through Friday

In this role, youll handle payroll preparation, processing, reporting, and reconciliation, while ensuring accuracy and compliance across payroll systems. Strong organizational and communication skills are key to succeeding in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process payroll changes, invoices, and approvals.
• Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and taxes.
• Manage system interfaces between PeopleSoft and Dayforce.
• Prepare and validate 401(k) and FSA accounts.
• Support payroll audits and assist with onboarding new hires.
• Provide administrative support for payroll-related programs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years of payroll experience.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Experience with Dayforce, Oracle Financials, and PeopleSoft preferred.
• Strong math and financial reconciliation skills.
