About Our College

Galveston College is a comprehensive community college located on Galveston Island, just 40 miles south of Houston, Texas. Our College provides the citizens of Galveston Island and the surrounding region with academic, workforce development, continuing education, and community service programs. We serve an ethnically diverse population of approximately 2,400 students each semester in credit programs and nearly 5,000 individuals annually in continuing education programs. Essential Functions

• Install, Troubleshoot,
• Maintain and Repair Electrical and Electronics Equipment.
• Help keep classroom, lab area and electrical storage clean and orderly daily.
• Assist with classroom instruction with lab and lesson preparation and facilitation for all electrical and electronics courses (Electricity Principles, Intro to Electrical Safety and Tools, National Electrical Code I, Commercial Wiring, Basic Electrical Theory, Fundamentals of Electronics, Digital Applications, Programmable Logic Controllers I, AC/DC Motor Control, Digital Systems, Advanced Microprocessors, Industrial Automation, Programmable Logic Controllers II).
• Assist with classroom grading as needed in Canvas LMS. Assist with lecturing portions of lesson to students.
• Connect with students and still maintain productivity.
