Job Title: Mortgage Broker Compliance Manager (Remote Position)

Job Summary:
The Mortgage Broker Compliance Manager will be responsible for implementing the policies and procedures provided by our third-party compliance law firm. This role includes conducting compliance testing on closed and approved files for commission funding, managing NMLS licensing for loan officers and our companies, and overseeing NMLS call report filings and audits. The Compliance Manager will collaborate with the administrative team to prepare necessary audit documents, interface with state regulators, and address any findings.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and enforce regulatory compliance programs effectively.
• Conduct compliance testing on closed and approved files before commission funding.
• Once a Month 15 Minute Training on Sales meeting for our sales staff on a compliance matter
• Manage and maintain NMLS licensing for loan officers and company entities.
• Oversee and submit NMLS call reports and ensure timely and accurate filings.
• Lead preparation efforts for regulatory and internal audits, working closely with the admin team.
• Act as the primary liaison with state regulators, ensuring full compliance and resolving any audit findings.
• Stay updated on residential mortgage acts, practices, regulations, and rules.
• Draft and revise policies and procedures related to mortgage banking compliance.
• Collaborate with internal auditors and external compliance professionals on projects and initiatives.
• Maintain a high level of familiarity with mortgage banking rules, investor requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Compliance Professional in the mortgage industry.
• Strong understanding of risk management as it relates to mortgage banking.
• Extensive knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements in mortgage loan origination.
• Expertise in federal regulations governing residential mortgage originations.
• Experience in internal audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory reporting.
• Familiarity with industry best practices and professional compliance standards.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Proficiency in computer systems and compliance-related software.
• Professional certifications such as CRCM, CRMA, CIA, MBA, Six Sigma, or a law degree (Esq.) are a plus.
