ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

2025-2026 School Year 11 month position Position: Middle School Band Director Elbert County Middle school Assist Elbert County High School Band Director Qualifications: Applicants must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Educator's Certificate in Music K-12 or eligible for waiver Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Genuine commitment to the overall success of students. Knowledge of current educational research especially in the field of music education. Skill in oral and written communication with students, parents and others. Ability to plan and implement activities for maximum effectiveness. Ability to work effectively with peers, administrators and others. Performance Responsibilities: Plans and coordinates a comprehensive middle school band program. Assists the high school band director with the high school marching band and the overall band program 6-12 Presents concerts or programs as directed by the instructional needs of the students and the valid expectations of the community. Assists with preparing music and drill charts for marching band and assists with marching band shows to presentable level. Accompanies and is responsible for the assisting band's performance on the field and in the stands at all the school's football games; plans, accompanies and is responsible for the band on trips to marching and concert performances; is responsible for the preparation and performance of the marching band auxiliary units; accompanies and is responsible for the band's performance at approved civic functions such as parades, dedications, and other ceremonies. Encourages and assists worthy students in ensembles, solos, and preparation for auditions Works with other teachers and middle school chorus directors to plan special activities, share ideas and resources, and ensure a quality feeder system for the high school band program. Assists with leadership to the booster club for the enhancement of the program. Develops and maintains good public relations. Leading, mangage, and teaching chorus. Performs other duties and tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position. Job Description: PK-12 Teacher Position Summary: A PK-12 teacher is responsible for creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters the academic, emotional, and social development of students from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Teachers develop and implement lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards, assess student progress, and adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners. The role involves collaboration with colleagues, communication with parents or guardians, and ongoing professional development. Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Planning and Instruction: Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with district, state, and federal curriculum standards. Use a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, discussions, hands-on activities, and technology, to accommodate different learning styles. Integrate critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity into lessons to enhance student learning. Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment. Implement effective classroom management techniques to encourage respect, discipline, and engagement. Address and resolve any behavioral issues following school policies. Ability to effectively supervise students Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Develop assessments (quizzes, tests, projects, etc.) to measure students' understanding and progress. Regularly evaluate and report student performance, identifying areas where additional support or enrichment may be needed. Use data from assessments to inform instructional adjustments and differentiated instruction. Collaboration and Communication: Work with other teachers, administrators, and staff to enhance the overall educational experience. Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress, achievements, and any concerns. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and other collaborative initiatives. Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends, technologies, and best practices. Reflect on teaching practices and incorporate new strategies to improve student outcomes. Student Support and Advocacy: Recognize and address the academic and emotional needs of students. Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to promote student well-being and growth. Refer students to appropriate support services when necessary. Motivating and and inspiring students to their full potential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field . State teaching certification or licensure for the relevant grade level(s). Strong knowledge of subject matter and pedagogy. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Preferred Skills: Experience with technology and online learning platforms. Familiarity with differentiated instruction and inclusive education strategies. Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment. Ability to regularly, reliably, and consistently be present in person at work Work Environment: Teachers work primarily in classroom settings within a school.
