We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Permanent Medical Biller to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our medical services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient accounts, ensuring that payments are collected in a timely manner, and resolving any issues related to medical billing. This is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Medical Biller, your primary duties will include:
1. Managing patient accounts and ensuring that payments are collected in a timely manner.
2. Reviewing and posting payments including patient payments, insurance payments, and adjustments.
3. Processing and submitting insurance claims to various insurance companies.
4. Reviewing accounts for billing errors and resolving discrepancies.
5. Following up on unpaid claims and denials within standard billing cycle timeframe.
6. Communicating with patients, insurance companies, and medical staff to ensure billing accuracy.
7. Maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
8. Keeping up-to-date with current coding and billing regulations.
9. Preparing and presenting reports on billing activities and collections to management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, with a focus on medical collections.
2. Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
3. Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding.
4. Strong understanding of insurance processes and contracts, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, medical staff, and insurance companies.
6. High attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
8. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
9. Certification in Medical Billing or related field is preferred.
