Job Description

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Maintenance Mechanic performs corrective and preventative maintenance, operates assigned machinery and equipment, tests equipment and systems and constructs and modifies equipment and systems as directed. Also responsible for transporting supplies, equipment and waste, as well as maintaining outside grounds.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education : High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
    • Experience : Three (3) years job-related experience.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Class C Boiler's License; or initial acquisition of Special Engineer License within ninety (90) days following date of hire and must obtain a 2nd Class C (2-C) Boiler's License prior to the expiration of the initial Special Engineers License or within fifteen (15) months of hire into this position if a Special Engineers License was already possessed on and has been maintained since the date of hire. Once Boilers License has been obtained the Special Engineers license is no longer required.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education : Two (2) years Technical or Trade School
    • Experience : Previous experience with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing; AND/OR previous related experience in a health care setting.
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration : Class C Boiler's License

    • READING - Basic: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw or interpret bar graphs to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
