Comstock Park, MI Home Daily /Weekly paychecks / $5,000 Sign-on bonus: $1,250 paid quarterly Company has been in business since 1982 providing fresh produce and other products to restaurants and other end users. Due to continued growth and expansion into the market, we are currently accepting applications for Local Truck Driver CDL A Route Delivery Drivers to work in our distribution warehouse within 45 miles of Comstock Park, MI. Compensation - Average annual salary $85,000-$95,000 per year which includes: Hourly wage of $28.00 per hour $5,000 sign-on bonus paid $1,250 per quarter Overtime paid after 40 hours per week Typical work week is 50-60 hours per week Safety shoes required; $250 vouchers provided per year. Weekly paychecks Benefits - Eligible 1 st of the month following 60 day probation period Medical, Dental, Vision, and Voluntary Life PTO (Personal and Vacation Days) Paid Holidays Career advancement opportunities Work Schedule 4-6 day work weeks Weekends and some Holidays included but off at least 2 weekends per month Work week starts Sunday night. Off every Saturday night and one other night during the week Start times vary, typically 7pm-10pm; work until work is completed, usually 12-14 hours per day Make 3-7 stops per day No layovers, home every day Responsibilities Fingerprint 400-900 cases per day, highly physical, touch freight. Some deliveries require going up and down stairs. Work in refrigerated environments inside and outdoor elements, year-round. Secure loads using load straps before and after every stop. Route delivery, driver unload, lift-gate, pallet jack, curve ramp, and 2-wheel hand cart Touch freight, case delivery of food-grade products to Chipotle restaurants Drive CDL A day cabs with 36'- 42' pup trailers to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations Secure pallets using straps. Strap and unstrap at each delivery. Document pre-trip and post-trip inspections Manage hours of service (HOS) and ensure DOT compliance Use of keys, alarm codes, tablets, etc. for overnight deliveries Provide excellent customer service Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers Requirements New CDL graduates encourage to apply! No CDL experience necessary Prior local route delivery experience highly preferred but not required Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License from state of Michigan Familiar with Samsara systems a plus but will train Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors Legally eligible to work in the U.S. Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance PHYSICAL ABILITIES commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
