Avera is currently seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) looking to deliver the best possible nursing care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

• The LPN is responsible for assisting the Registered Nurse (RN) is assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the patient care.
• The LPN is accountable for all patients assigned to him/her according to established policies and procedures of Avera St Mary’s Hospital and the scope of practice of the licensed practical nurse.
• Carries out other responsibilities as delegated by Unit Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

• Participates in educational opportunities and updates and maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.
• Completion of an approved Hemodialysis treatment course.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• G raduate from an approved licensed practical school of nursing with current practical nursing licensure in the State of South Dakota.
• ACLS certification is highly recommended.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all patient care staff.

Work Schedule

• Day shifts; 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.  

• $25.25 - $36.50 per hour
