UFG's internship program is an ten-week opportunity to complete projects you're proud of, network with insurance industry professionals, build strong networks/relationships to continue on after the internship is over.

As a Legal Intern , you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with litigated matters, negotiating contract language, regulatory and compliance topics, and have meaningful input on making changes implementing real-time liability mitigation strategies while networking with all areas of senior corporate management.

Here's what to expect:

• Legal research (50-state surveys of developing issues, docket searches)
• Review contracts (leases, third party vendors) & assist with vendor due diligence
• Assist with document production for litigation and subpoena responses
• Gain exposure to UFG's Leadership team through various networking events, including participation in the Build Your Own Network Program.
• Participate in a variety of development and social activities with interns from other business units.

Here's what it takes:

• Current law school student, minimum second year, preferably
• Proficient with Westlaw
• Knowledge of and proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, etc.
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Excellent analytical skills
• Attention to detail
