Junior Network Systems Engineer
Acture Solutions-Computer Systems Integrators, Inc. (CSI) is seeking an entry level Associate Network Systems Engineer. As we embark on a journey of expansion and innovation, we require an individual with exceptional organizational skills to facilitate the smooth execution of network engineering and management.
Your Role:
The Junior Network Systems Engineer will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructures and server environments as well as enterprise software applications under the guidance of senior team members. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with foundational knowledge in network and server environments, who are eager to develop their skills in a hands-on environment. You will work with a team of skilled engineers to troubleshoot issues, monitor network performance, and contribute to ongoing network and server projects.
Your Impact:
•Connectivity: Provide robust connectivity across routing, switching, and wireless networks on campus, over WAN, and to the Internet.
•Network Security: Manage network security (NGFW, VPN, SDWAN, NAC, SIEM/SOAR configurations) and work with various firewall vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, Palo Alto, Barracuda, Meraki, etc.
•Layer Management: Handle Layer 2 management, including Spanning Tree, Ethernet trunking, VLANs, Port Aggregation, and QoS tagging.
•Routing Services: Proficiently manage routing services like DHCP and DNS; knowledge in email routing and security is a plus.
•Tech Familiarity: Work with EDR/MDR/NDR technologies and connect on-premises systems to AWS, Azure, Google, and co-location data sources.
•Network Experience: Utilize experience with Cisco and HPE Aruba wired and wireless networks.
•System Administration:
Assist with maintaining server environments, including both Windows and Linux servers, to ensure high performance and robust security.
•Software and Application Management:
Support enterprise software applications across various platforms, including installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
•PSA Systems: Work within PSA systems such as Autotask.
•Switching: Manage Layer 1 and 2 switching.
•Wireless: Handle Wireless APs (Meraki, Cisco).
•Perform other related duties as assigned.
Who You Are, Required Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Networking, or related field (or equivalent technical experience).
•Experience: Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls (internships or labs included). Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs. Experience with network security protocols and tools preferred.
•Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Juniper Networks Certified Associate certifications preferred.
•Documentation: Strong belief in clean documentation, clear network topology, and well-defined configuration change paths.
•Detail-Oriented: Meticulous about cabling, labeling, and maintaining a polished appearance for network stacks.
•Problem-Solver: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Challenge Seeker: Enjoy intellectual challenges and strive to get things "just right" for customers.
•Communication: Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
•Adaptability: Able to quickly change priorities while maintaining progress on long-term projects and tasks.
•Candidate must reside within fifty miles of Fishkill, NY.
•Onsite client visit travel required.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time onsite position located in Fishkill, NY with hours between 8 AM to 5 PM EST, Monday through Friday with some remote flexibility. $60,000-80,000 annual salary.
