Industrial Millwright Mechanic

Role and Responsibilities:

As an Industrial Millwright Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the plant equipment and ensuring smooth operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

Execution of Planned and Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled maintenance tasks to keep plant equipment in optimal condition.

Troubleshooting and Critical Thinking: Identify, diagnose, and repair equipment problems using your critical thinking skills.

Blueprints and Schematics: Analyze and understand blueprints, schematics, layout plans, and other materials related to equipment maintenance.

Hydraulics, Lubrication, and Mechanical Skills: Apply your knowledge and skills in hydraulics, lubrication, and mechanical equipment, including the application of various lubricants.

Safety: Ensure that all work is performed safely and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all equipment, tools, and workstations to ensure their reliability and functionality.

Optimization: Utilize your skills to improve equipment optimization and reliability.

Record Keeping: Maintain logs and records of labor, materials, and equipment usage.

Communication: Effectively communicate equipment deficiencies to team members and management.

Attention to Detail: Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in breakdown analysis, root cause analysis, focused improvement, and 5S projects to enhance operational efficiency.

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure workers adhere to local, state, and federal codes and regulations.

Other Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and education:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent education (trade school or college preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience as a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic, including one year of in-plant manufacturing experience.

Problem Solving: Ability to work independently and utilize critical problem-solving and decision-making skills to generate and implement solutions throughout the process.

Safety: Must maintain compliance with all LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, and Working at Heights policies. OSHA 10 training and experience required.

Welding: Experience with MiG and stick welding.

Mechanical Aptitude: Exceptional mechanical aptitude and a willingness to assist in all tasks, jobs, and repairs.

Availability: Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights in excess of 80 feet, use man lifts, work in confined spaces, work outdoors, perform rotating shifts, and lift 50 pounds.
