We are looking for an experienced In House Counsel to provide legal support and guidance for our organization in the Macomb area. This role involves managing complex legal matters, including contract drafting, negotiations, and tax-related issues, while ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial contracts, corporate law, and trust and estate tax work.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and revise various types of contracts, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.

• Lead negotiations on commercial agreements to secure favorable terms while mitigating risks.

• Provide legal advice on corporate law matters, including compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Oversee legal aspects of construction and development projects to ensure adherence to applicable laws.

• Handle tax-related legal matters, including trust and estate tax planning and compliance.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal challenges and provide sound solutions.

• Conduct thorough legal research to support decision-making and policy development.

• Manage legal risks by identifying potential issues and developing proactive strategies.

• Ensure proper documentation and legal support for organizational transactions and agreements.

• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on strategic legal matters.

• Licensed attorney with a valid legal practice certification.
• Extensive experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
• Strong knowledge of corporate law and regulatory compliance.
• Proven expertise in tax law, particularly trust and estate tax matters.
• Familiarity with legal aspects of construction and development projects.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with diverse teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
