Job Description

Pride Health is hiring a Hospital Care Investigator to support our client’s medical facility based in Harlem, NY. This contract opportunity is a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

*This is an ON-SITE position*

• Specialty: Hospital Care Investigator (There are 4 positions being offered – 2 in the Front End and 2 in the Back End)
• Job Type: CONTRACT
• Duration: 8 weeks
• Location: Harlem, NY - 10037
• Schedule: Monday-Friday // 9 am – 5 pm // No weekends and no holidays requirements – 1-hour lunch!!!
• Pay Range: $19.00 - $26.50/ hour

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.

Requirements:

• MUST BE bilingual with at least one of these languages: Spanish, French
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• 4 years of full-time experience in interviewing, investigation, or related fields such as credit and collection follow-up or bookkeeping IN A HEALTHCARE SETTING.

Front-End Responsibilities:

• Contact insurance companies to verify coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and document approvals in the system.
• Educate patients on their financial responsibilities, provide cost estimates, and arrange payment plans when necessary.
• Assist with processing pre-authorizations, documenting responses, and following up as needed.

Back-End Responsibilities:

• Prepare and submit accurate claims (both paper and electronic), ensuring timely reimbursement from payers.
• Process rejections and denials, post payments from insurance and patients, and reconcile accounts for accuracy.
• Generate and review patient balance aging reports, follow up on outstanding accounts, and escalate issues as needed.
